The chicken is really good!!.. the mac and cheese cabbage ok hated the potatoe salad! Overall I'd go back and try other meals

The food was delicious. Proportion was more than enough.

Got there at 12. Had to wait for them to open. Ordered a large dinner chitterlings mac n cheese and cabbage. Totaled to $17.75. Waited 40 min for my food. The portions were awesome. Cabbage was good. Mac n cheese was awful. Chitterlings are pre cleaned not cleaned how i would clean them. Prob wouldnt visit again.

I had been craving some soul food for awhile and wanted to try someplace new. I had a wonderful experience, there is a wait because everything is made to order which I didn’t mind that means it’s going to be good. We enjoyed everything down to the dessert. They even have chitlins and I’m not one to eat everybody’s but a lot of people were coming in and ordering them so I had to give them and try. They were cleaned very well and tender. I felt like I was eating my grandmas cooking.

I called to place an order and was placed on hold for 15 minutes and was never help twice in a row

Great food great price but wait time is long

This place looks like a hole in the wall but my husband says their fried fish and macaroni and cheese is good. He says the portions are gigantic and the food needs to be seasoned more but overall he says he likes it. I have never tried it myself because presentation is everything but based on hubby's experience it's decent.

My husband and I spent $ 89.00 on our food and when we got home our food was wrong. Fish cakes sandwich burnt and no mayo, lettuce on the bread. Meat loaf sub burnt and chitterlings salty and to top it off ordered food at 4:30pm and waited in our car until 6pm. No more even with refund on some. Grandma needs Help and air conditioning.😠

THE WAIT IS TO LONG I ORDERED MY FOOD AND HAD TO WAIT NEARLY 2HRS. WILL NERVER EAT THERE AGAIN.

I really wanted to enjoy this place and support a black company however this was the worse food I’ve ever tasted. I got there at 2p when they opened and didn’t get my food until 3:10p, I was hoping the taste of the food will pay off but that wasn’t the case. The mac and cheese was soggy and disgusting, the potatoes were hard in the potatoes salad and the yams looked like they were dumped out the can onto my plate. The chicken wings were okay but not worth the wait. I never give reviews but the food is too pricey for anyone to waste their money so I highly suggest going somewhere else.

This establishment does not take debit or credit cards. I haven’t carried cash on me in years so it was definitely a disappointment. They don’t even have an ATM machine you can use, I was craving soul food and was so confused as to how they hadn’t had an ATM machine if they only took cash.

Food is very good but takes took long to get

Well I've been going to Grandma's for over 10 years now, and I'm sorry to say I've slowly seen the decline over the years. The prices have gone up, understandably as I to own a business, but the service and food has gone down. Honestly I feel sorry for the owners because they've put in many years, and seem to be working to their bones. The wait times are insane, the hours are hit or miss, and sometimes it's really hard getting someone on the phone. Hopefully things will get better there because I would love to continue supporting them.

The service was decent...I am; however having a hard time understanding why I waited over 30mins for two sides. Now here is where the problem came. When I got ready to eat. My food was NOT good. The Mac and cheese was horrible, and the gravy for the Mashed potatoes unfortunately tasted like it came from a Chinese Resturant. I will of course give them another shot because we all have our off days, however this time I know what to stay away from, and to call at least 1 hour in advance.

I had 2 orders one was the porkchop dinner and the other was fried shrimp, the roll with had mold on it and cabbage was overcooked .the mashed potatoes was ok. The mac and cheese was watery and the noodles was over cooked and bland the porkchop was ok just a little tough.

If I could rate this place a (0=ZERO) I would! My husband and I stopped here expecting some good soul food unfortunately not! Soul food should have flavor! Please consider going else where all the food we received was DISGUSTING!!!!!! SOUL FOOD HAS FLAVOR THIS PLACE HAS NONE!! KEEP IT MOVING PEOPLE!!

Slow service and food use to be great

After placing my order I was told the card machine was down but that the 7-11 up the street had an ATM. Trying to remain positive and support a black business I went to 7-11 and accepted the $2.75 surcharge. I get back to the restaurant to be told they didn't have any ones and asked if I could go next door to get change.... No ma'am! I ended up getting $1.25 in all coins. Fine... All of that to get home to have greens and yams from a can, barely seasoned 😔.

The food was hot and delicious and the portion sizes are huge my only reason for not rating them higher is because they didn't have the full menu available but the food they did have was delicious

I have been craving some soul food. This place did satisfy that craving. I ordered the Fried Whiting dinner. The portions were huge. I would go back.

They have amazing food. The chicken tenders are on point. My grandma loves the chitterlings. They also have great collard greens and other veggies.

I really wanted to give this establishment a try, as my husband and I ate here about 5 or 6 years ago and it was expensive and horrible 🤦🏽‍♀️. I now work very close to the restaurant , 3 minutes, and another colleague was ordering from them and I thought let me give it another try. I ordered a crab cake sandwich, when I arrived it was ready. I came in with my card, I rarely carry cash, to my surprise there was a 4% fee to use...no.no.no I went right back to the car and got some cash. By the way the woman who waited on me was very nice, and it was clean. I love crabcakes and couldn't wait to get back to my office and enjoy!!! Well when I opened the box the bun was fresh, but obviously too big for the crabcake slider I had just purchased. It had large chunks of peppers in it and a thick breading crust. I was extremely disappointed..sorry but this was my last time.

I love with the white of the restaurant but they were kind of slow I didn't have a chance to get my food I ordered three sides took about 20 minutes so I left

This is my first time and I spent $46 on three large dinners so a1 and you definitely get what you pay for and more so I would say this is one of the best soul food on the south side or in Richmond.

Good food yes certainly but no good decor to match..

Make plans before ordering timing is a must when u order takeout... otherwise eating in is about the same as the wait...When your food is cooked MTO made to order yes its being put down and cooked and prepared as if u had to go get the food yourself....But at the end....It do make u wanna go and smack ya momma..... num num mfn num....

WOW❣ The food is absolutely delicious, plenteous and keeps you coming back for more! Love the Whiting fish, collard greens, yams, mac and cheeses and cornbread! Not to mention the sweet husband and wife owners who are always polite, cordial, courteous and friendly❣
